Ballet Black returns to the Corn Exchange for the 5th year with specially commissioned pieces celebrating dancers of black and Asian decent.
Ballet Black, a company that celebrates dancers of black and Asian decent, presents an evening of specially commissioned pieces which showcase the technique, precision and grace of their talented dancers.
As part of their latest double bill, renowned British choreographer Cathy Marston choreographs a new ballet based on Can Themba’s moving fable The Suit. Completing the evening is Arthur Pita’s Olivier nominated A Dream Within a Midsummer Night’s Dream.
“This is a delicious confection of a Dream, richly choreographed but subverted by a rude and surreal spirit of misrule.”
“Star of the evening is unquestionably Arthur Pita’s Dream.”
