Join us for this stunning winter event that brings the community together.
Soak up the atmosphere and watch the hundreds of twinkling lanterns as the procession travels through Newbury town centre.
This popular winter event brings together the local community to celebrate the festive season. Lantern holders will gather at the clock tower on Northbrook Street from 4pm, ready for the candle-lit procession to begin at 4.30pm.
The parade travels along Northbrook Street, accompanied by live music from the Reading based community Samba band, Beatroots, before culminating in the Market Place with more live music from Dolly and the Clothes Pegs.
Amidst the sea of sustainably made pyramid lanterns, spectators will spot some spectacular, large, intricate shaped lanterns constructed at the popular Lantern Making for the Brave sessions.
Temperatures look to be chilly on Sunday, so wrap up warm and remember that the Corn Exchange Cafe Bar is open serving a selection of hot drinks that you can drink in or take away to enjoy during the parade. Choose from a range of teas and coffees, or one of our festive flavoured hot chocolates, and receive 25p off your drink if you bring a reusable cup.
