A day of talks with a common theme: The City - small in area but big in character. The focal point for social care in times past, Newbury’s oldest surviving buildings are here. 

Leading local historians will tell the stories of hospitals, almshouses, life in this unique enclave and the terrible day in 1943 when bombs fell on Newbury.
