The Importance of Being Earnest

Thursday 15th Jul 2021, Aline’s Orchard at Welford Park, Newbury

Full Price £13 (£11 concs)

  • A man in a suit and top hat is holding a plate of cucumber sandwiches. He has thrown them in the air and some have landed on his face. He is laughing.

Slapstick Picnic would like to cordially invite you to its inaugural summer tea party, where marvellous feats of performance and culinary capers await.

Over tea and cucumber sandwiches, we ask that you prepare to witness the impossible - the entirety of Oscar Wilde’s classic play of manners, affairs and handbags being performed by just two rather dashing entertainers.

From the creators of The HandleBards comes a fantastically wild(e) new production, ripping up the recipe book and celebrating silliness. With Slapstick Picnic, you can have your cake and eat it.

Seating for this event will be on benches and audience members will be allocated a seat on arrival.

Please remember to bring your face covering with you as visitors over the age of 11 are required to wear them on arrival. We will be limiting the number of people admitted to each event to ensure appropriate social distancing between each group and once you have been seated face coverings may be removed.
