Creative sessions led by professional artists designed to support the well-being of people through social prescription.

Links to Thrive is a programme of free courses for adults offering creative activities, support and social connection delivered in venues across West Berkshire.
In collaboration with local GP surgeries and their Social Prescribers, we are offering referral and self-referral places onto creative well-being courses
Art for Wellbeing: Sketching and Drawing
Explore some of Newbury’s own historic artifacts as a starting point for sketching and drawing. Led by a professional artist, with insights into local history by Clare Bromley, Learning and Participation Officer at West Berkshire Museum, these relaxed and informal sessions aim to promote wellbeing and support good mental health.
Art for Wellbeing: Craft and Care
With a focus on wellbeing these sessions will work through a variety of craft techniques offering new skills and an opportunity to share progress with others in a supportive and relaxed environment.
Singing for Recovery
These vocal sessions aim to help build the confidence needed for recovery, through singing. Sessions will use vocal warm ups and singing techniques to promote relaxation, as well as an opportunity to sing along to songs of all kinds. This class is suitable for anyone wanting to sing in a relaxed and friendly environment with support and guidance from a professional singer.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
All courses are free for adults of all ages looking for support in well-being or looking to build confidence in their ability to meet challenges, especially in the context of COVID-19. Places by referral.
You can self-refer or be referred by someone already working to support adults in West Berkshire, for example your local GP, Social Prescriber or community hub.

Participants are welcome to join throughout the course as each session is independent.
