Introduction to Glass

Sunday 10th Jun 2018, Learning Centre

Full Price £95 (all materials and kiln firing included)

Learn how to safely melt glass in a microwave to make a number of unique glass pieces.

Make beautiful jewellery pieces and experiment with coloured glass to create a decorative bowl, as well as a larger fused piece that will be kiln-fired.

There is flexibility within the day for you to choose the items you make - under Shirley's expert guidance previous participants have created coasters, wall hangings, wind chimes and mirror frames.

The day will also include some basic glass theory to back up the practical activities, meaning this workshop provides the ideal introduction to working in this unusual art form. There will also be opportunities to develop your skills further in follow-up workshops.

All materials will be provided, but Shirley recommends that you bring an apron or an old shirt to cover your clothes as some of the processes can be a little messy. As your pieces will need to be fired after the workshop, Shirley will ask you to leave your email address or phone number with her so she can get in touch with you about collecting them once this is done.
