9th Feb 2024
Join Shirely Eccles for an introduction to the skills and techniques involved in glass fusing and slumping.
We will have the option to make two kiln-fired pieces; a bowl/platter and either coasters, a suncatcher or a wind chime. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of ideas and glass materials. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of ideas and glass materials.
In project 1 you can create either a small wall hanging, coasters, sun catcher or a wind chime.
In project 2 you will learn techniques to design your own sheet of art glass. This will then be used to form a slumped bowl or platter. Suitable moulds will be discussed and prepared for this process as the technique will include two firings.
These will be taken away for firing in a kiln and will be returned to The Base for you to collect after the workshop.
Duration: 11am - 5pm
