This course is aimed at beginners, but also anyone who enjoys working with mixed media and in trying something new.
During this exciting and unique 5 week course with Jacky Purtill you will be introduced to the art of combining mixed media and metal embossed relief to create original and experimental artwork. You will complete a minimum of two finished and mounted pieces of artwork based on the techniques undertaken. No experience required as all abilities welcome. This course is for you if you want to be part of a course delivered in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment.
• Week 1: Introduction to metal embossing tools, equipment, materials and techniques through sampling and the creation of basic metal embossing pieces. Exploring using metal surface and embossing techniques and use ink pens/sharpies to create colourful and textured artwork.
• Week 2 and 3: Metal embossing with gesso and ink. Explore how to use other materials to create unique and experimental surfaces onto metal. Learn how to create textured and distressed artwork using both gesso and ink as mediums. Completion of a minimum of one finished piece of artwork.
• Week 4 and 5: Exploring using metal embossing and mixed media (acrylic, modelling paste, glass liner, beads, stones, findings) together as a combined and finished piece of artwork.

All tickets must be booked in advance.
Age Guidance: 18+
All materials are included with this course.
There is no need to print or collect a ticket as the team will have a record of those who have booked. Booking for workshops and courses close 24 hours before the start time. Please note we reserve the right to cancel any course or workshop if the minimum numbers are not met. If we are not able to run a workshop you will be informed three working days ahead of the course or workshop start date.
