This Is Me is a visual art project taking place in various settings in West Berkshire. The Corn Exchange Newbury will support people to explore different art mediums and create pieces of art reflecting their individuality.
Last year, Corn Exchange Newbury launched This is Me, a new project to bring professional art provision into various settings including care homes and community centres. Each participant creates a piece of art which represents them; it might reflect their interests, a special memory or their character. Participants work once a week with a local artist to explore different visual art mediums over a four-six week period. These pieces of work will then be displayed in a special This is Me exhibition.
This is Me aims to reinforce the participant’s sense of identity and individuality and inform meaningful conversations with the people in their lives.
We are excited to announce that in Spring 2018 we will be running our successful This is Me project with a group of participants connected with local charity Younger People with Dementia (YPWD), sessions will be facilitated by artist Simon Jardine. To get involved in This is Me with YPWD please contact the charity directly, information can be found here.
