We always welcome hearing from local artists and creative people who would be interested in coming to talk to our Touch to See Art Club for adults with visual impairments.
This friendly, ever-growing art appreciation group meets on the second Monday of every month, and in the past we have welcomed sculptors, textile artists, musicians, woodworkers, milliners, florists and puppeteers.
As well as a valuable social opportunity, Touch to See gives members the chance to access art through senses other than sight, and find out about different art disciplines. Guest speakers are often able to bring in examples of their work which the group can pass round and touch, and discussions about how pieces are created follow.
If you are a local creative person who works in a tactile art-form and feel you could give 30 - 60 minutes of your time to talk about your work to this enthusiastic, sociable group, please get in touch.
