Calling all over-65s who want to keep clowning around!
West Berkshire residents over the age of 65 have the unique opportunity to take part in an outdoor show, The Intergalactic Caravan which will tour to a festival later this summer.
Associate artist at the Corn Exchange Newbury and 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space, Kristoffer Huball is offering a unique opportunity for those aged 65 plus to collaborate with him on an exciting new piece of outdoor theatre, The Intergalactic Caravan.
Working together at 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space on Greenham Business Park, the participants will create a piece of original street clowning which will be previewed in Newbury, followed by a small tour to one of the UK's largest outdoor performing arts festivals.
There are opportunities for both those who would like to get involved in the performance and also the construction and set design, with Kristoffer particularly interested in hearing from those with backgrounds in electronics, fabrication carpentry, painting, sewing, sculpture and welding.
The ideal participants will be able commit to a programme of professional development during the period of the project alongside learning from connections with the wider theatre industry. This is an unpaid position and participants will receive travel expenses, per diems, and will be taken on tour.
Graduate of L'Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, Huball has also been an associate lecturer at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Northampton University and is currently lecturing at Winchester University. He also co-founded the award-winning Rhum and Clay Theatre Company who have regularly performed at the Watermill Theatre Newbury.
