We have joined forces with Newbury Library, West Berkshire Museum and Shaw House, to develop a new free activity for the residents of Newbury and West Berkshire.
On Friday 25 August, we will be launching a new activity booklet, the Arts & Culture Passport, as a means of reaching out to a wider group of young audiences.
The Arts & Culture Passport is a free resource, suitable for children aged 5 - 12. We hope that the Passport will encourage young people to explore the creative provision of each venue, by offering them the chance to record their experience in the each space through simple, engaging activities, as well as collecting stamps at each location on a map of the area.
The Passport aims to improve to the area’s access to arts and culture, providing an aspirational opportunity for young people to get more involved, with the potential of continuing on do an Arts Award, which is a nationally-recognised achievement. The activities in the Passport are based around the ‘Discover’ Arts Award.
The Passport is free of charge to complete, however if you would like to receive an official certificate from Trinity College London, a small charge of £3.50 is payable at the Corn Exchange Box Office.
The Passport can be picked up from the Corn Exchange, Newbury Library, Shaw House and West Berkshire Museum from Friday 25 August. What a great way to spend your Bank Holiday weekend!
