Get creative in the Learning Centre this June!
For first time this year we bring a beginner and an intermediate glass workshop to the Learning Centre.
If you’ve always been intrigued by the craft but are yet to give it a go, join our wonderful artist and practitioner Shirley for an Introduction to Glass. On Sunday 10 June, under the expert guidance of Shirley, you will learn how to melt glass and create beautiful coloured glass items. These could be coasters, a decorative bowl, mirror frames, and jewellery pieces. The workshop will also include some basic glass theory to support your understanding of the practical activities.
If you have dabbled in glass artwork before and want to take your skills to next level, come along to Glass Fusing on Sunday 17 June. In this workshop you will explore different design and fusing techniques over the course of the day using kiln carving to create contours, textures and 3D effects and inclusion to experiment with metals that are compatible with glass.
Can’t decide which workshop to join? Make the most of our deal and get £10 off when you book both workshops in one transaction!
If glass isn’t for you, perhaps Summer Silk is?
Join our silk artist Helen Mortimer on Friday 22 June for a fun, creative session and experiment in this beautiful art form. Using steam-fix dyes, you will create your own beautiful paintings on silk. Templates are provided but feel free to bring along your own designs!
