Get Involved at the Corn Exchange This Summer

Join us this summer for an action packed season filled with opportunities for children, young people and adults of all ages.

Our ever popular adult courses are back including one day workshops such Crafternoon Tea, Create In Clay and the Adult Dance Week led by John Darvell of NOCTURN dance.

Create in Clay: Hand building, a chance to experiment with impressed, painted and burnished surface decoration to make your pieces truly unique! All materials and kiln firing are included, but please dress for mess and bring an old towel to wipe your hands on. Your creations will need to be fired separately; work will be available for collection from the Arts Centre three weeks after the workshop.

Crafternoon Tea: Join Helen Mortimer for a relaxed morning creating your own greetings cards and other 3D projects, using techniques such as rubber stamping and die-cutting.

Adult Dance Week is a fantastic opportunity open to all abilities to join a fun four evenings of dance workshops delivered by John Darvell, Artistic Director of NOCTURN, culminating in an evening performance at the end of the week!

Young People
Have a passion for performing? Join us on an adventure through the Just So Stories to find out how the camel got his hump and how the leopard got his spots! Every day we will explore a new story, culminating in a performance at the end of the week to family and friends!

If you prefer craft then our Just So Craft Activities are for you. Learn how to make Butterflies, Leopards or Elephants with Artist Helen Mortimer. You can sign up for each day individually or book for all three for £25, all materials included but make sure you dress for mess!

Coming back this year is our Summer Dance Week, work alongside dance professionals experiencing the daily routine of a dancers life; morning class, choreographic sessions, rehearsals and perfecting the steps for a final performance on the Corn Exchange main stage at the end of the week!
