A collection of items including two patterned notebooks, one with peacocks and one with shells on a white desk with ribbon and scissors

A fun introduction to making a concertina style book with decorative covers and a ribbon tie.

This workshop is a fun craft activity for children over the age of 7. Children will each make a concertina style book with decorative covers, and a ribbon tie. Once they have made the book, they can then choose to fill it with a poem, pictures or stories before leaving with their very own book and the instructions and knowledge of how to do it again at home.

This is a fun way to introduce children to bookbinding. It’s a great craft activity using paper, card, glue and scissors and can easily be replicated at home. Making their own books is a brilliant way to encourage children to write or draw their own stories and poems as well as being a fun craft activity.
