Take a journey across Greenham Common where aerial circus, dance, street theatre, music and more bring to life this very special environment and its rich and complex stories.

Whether you love nature, enjoy the arts, or are just looking for a fun day out in beautiful surroundings, Corn Exchange Newbury and 101 Outdoor Arts invite you to experience a very special event at Greenham Common. Creative Commons will transform one of the local area’s best loved and most fascinating green spaces. Suitable for all ages, you can explore the beauty of the Common whilst aerial circus, dance, street theatre, music and more bring this very special environment, and its rich and complex stories, to life.

This year marks 25 years since Greenham Common returned to public ownership. Come help us celebrate its rich past and remarkable restoration – from military base to wildlife sanctuary – through this unique, interactive event.

Across both Saturday and Sunday there will be performances and installations across Greenham Common. Allow yourself to be guided across the common by your host Adderlaide, the spirit of the common, and meet Heath and Heather Robinson, the eccentric couple who inhabit The Common Room; they’re just waiting to share their world with visitors!

Experience South Asian dance from acclaimed choreographer Nandita Shankardass, and see Gossamer Thread Circus’ tale of ecology and folklore on their 7m high trapeze rig.

Dive deeper into the Common and find peace in Yara + Davina’s provoking work Moral Compass, and join folk singer Louise Jordan in exploring the resilience of the peace camp protesters.

You can take a magical storytelling walk in Rachel Lincoln’s nature odyssey for children Common or get lost in the woods with Simon Daw’s audio trail for young people Unknown Forest. There will be creative nature and art workshops for all ages with Nature Nurture and a chance to learn fun circus skills with Gossamer Thread

Start your adventure from Venture West at Greenham Business Park. All activities will run both days and be repeated throughout each day. You can also enjoy The Base’s Festival of Arts and Craft Fair on Greenham Business Park - a special shuttle bus will be running between the Arts and Craft Fair and the entrance to the Common.

Creative Commons is part of the Corn Exchange Newbury's 101 Outdoor Arts outdoor programme and funded by Greenham Trust and Arts Council England.
