Multi-coloured painted eggs layed out on a colourful table

Celebrate spring and explore the Ukrainian folk tradition of Pysanky egg decoration.

Join Ukrainian artist Liudmyla Ushakova to create beautiful eggs in the Ukrainian Easter tradition. And enjoy tea and cake with Honesty, while you paint!

A Ukrainian pysanka is not just an Easter egg; it’s a true symbol of spring, rebirth, and a rich tradition passed down through generations. Each pysanka is a small masterpiece, filled with sacred meaning and unique patterns.

At our workshop, you will:

  • Learn the history and symbolism of pysanky
  • Master the wax-resist technique and work with natural dyes
  • Create your own Easter egg, which will become a talisman or a special gift

Immerse yourself in the magic of ancient art and spend your time creatively. We provide all the necessary materials and a warm, inspiring atmosphere. This workshop is linked to The Base's Master Crafter season, celebrating crafts and art on a large scale in the Gallery during National Craft Month!
