Nick Sharratt’s Picture Book Drawalong (Tue 15 Apr) invites audience members of all ages to join acclaimed children’s writer and illustrator Nick Sharratt for a family-friendly, fun-filled experience. Sharratt, known for illustrating close to 300 books, including You Choose, the Shark in the Park series, and Pants, will share his creative process and show attendees how to draw some of his most iconic characters, such as Tracy Beaker and Timothy Pope.
Having worked alongside celebrated authors like Julia Donaldson, Michael Rosen, and Dame Jacqueline Wilson, Nick Sharratt will also offer valuable drawing tips and insights into character creations. Participants should bring their own pencils, paper and something to lean on, ready to sketch along. Signed books will also be available for purchase.

For those inspired by the masters, The Base Greenham is proud to present an extraordinary exhibition featuring the works of one of the 20th century’s most influential artists - Joan Miró: Painting and Poetry (Fri 4 – Sun 27 Apr). As the opening venue for this prestigious Hayward Gallery Touring exhibition, The Base will showcase a collection of stunning lithographs Miró created in response to the writings of surrealist poet Robert Desnos. Miró’s vibrant and symbolic style, deeply rooted in Surrealism and Dadaism, is sure to captivate art enthusiasts of all backgrounds and ages. The Base Greenham also offers visitors a permanent, free space for creativity with their community art trolley, available to all visitors at any time. This allows visitors to get creative and draw inspiration from the Gallery to create pieces using pens, pencils and other media to take home with them.

Young artists looking to get hands-on this Easter holiday can join The Base’s Holiday Art Club (Mon 14 – Thu 17 Apr) for an exciting exploration of new artistic techniques and mediums. This engaging programme encourages creativity and self-expression, allowing participants to develop their own unique projects in a fun and supportive environment.
