Journey through Newbury with this spectacular outdoor performance!

A wild nocturnal journey where performance, music and costume come together to create an otherworldly and joyous procession through the town in a fantastical parade inspired by Haitian culture.

We're looking for singers to take part!

We’re looking for enthusiastic singers to take part in creating the Deblozay unique spectacle. No formal vocal training needed.

Immerse yourself in a magical and mysterious atmosphere and let yourself be carried away by the music at the heart of this collective adventure. The repertoire for the singers taking part in the show consists of 6 to 8 songs in Haitian Creole, drawn from the popular and sacred tradition. Some are very simple, based on the 'call and response' style, while others are arranged with accompanying harmonies.

All the materials will be provided at the end of the weekend to allow you to rehearse the songs: audio recordings, lyrics and sheet music.

Apply to be a part of this outdoor performance by emailing hello@101outdoorarts.com.

What’s the show?

We’re looking for 100 people to get involved in an exciting, immersive outdoor singing experience which will take place in Newbury this summer (Sat 5 Sep).

Who can get involved?

Anybody! If you like singing, and are comfortable joining in with a group, we want to hear from you!

What does it involve?

Take part in two fun rehearsals in July to get ready for the event and then join the mass choir event in September. All training is provided and you will be supported along the way.
