A Sparkling Season of Festive Magic in Our Locations
We have been getting ready to sparkle this festive season with a packed programme of events, shows and creative experiences to delight audiences of all ages. From magical performances to community celebrations, we promise a joyful season filled with laughter, light and holiday cheer.
The celebrations begin with our annual Christmas Gift Fair (Saturday 15 November), where visitors can start their Christmas shopping in style. The Fair brings together a hand-picked selection of independent crafters and makers offering unique gifts, seasonal treats and handmade decorations, all while the our Café Bar serves up warming festive refreshments to keep spirits high.
On the same day, Step into Christmas (Saturday 15 November), the ultimate feel-good festive concert comes to our Auditorium. With a sensational live band, breathtaking performances, and all your favourite Christmas classics, Step into Christmas captures the true spirit of the season and is guaranteed to have audiences singing, smiling, and dancing along from start to finish to kick off the festive celebrations with a bang!
Creativity and community take centre stage once again, with the ever-popular free Lantern Making Workshops (Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December) taking place at 101 Outdoor Arts on Greenham Business Park, where families, friends and makers of all ages can design their own willow and paper lanterns in preparation for one of Newbury’s most magical annual traditions – the Festival of Light (Sunday 14 December). On the day of the free outdoor arts event, the glowing lanterns will form a procession as it winds its way through Northbrook Street, filling the town centre with a twinkling trail of light, music, and festive joy before gathering in the Market Place for a heartwarming celebration.
And no Christmas would be complete without a spectacular pantomime! This year, the award-winning team, Plested Brown and Wilsher, return with a brand-new adventure – Robin Hood and Maid Marian (Friday 28 November – Saturday 3 January 2026). Audiences can expect Newburyshire to transform into a forest full of fun, mischief and mayhem as Robin, Marian and their band of merry outlaws take on the dreadful Sheriff of Newburyshire. With toe-tapping songs through the decades, clever comedy, and plenty of family-friendly laughs, this year’s Newbury Panto promises to be another unmissable festive treat.
From the sparkle of handmade gifts to the glow of lanterns and the laughter of panto, we invite everyone to share in the joy of the season. Whether you’re shopping, singing, crafting or cheering, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this Christmas period.
