Newbury Sounds - Meet the Bands: Solar Season

Get to know the bands who will be performing at our next fundraising event, Newbury Sounds!

Our next fundraising event for the Old Library Campaign is now just under two weeks away (Saturday 30 August)! We have spoken to each of the bands performing on the night to learn more about them and what to expect from their performance at Newbury Sounds. 

Next up is Solar Season. Here is what they had to say:

What genre of music do you play? 

We play 60s/70s classic rock style music with our own folky, funky twist.  

Who is your band’s biggest musical inspiration?  

Led Zeppelin is a big one for us, along with Stevie Nicks, Greta Van Fleet, and Hannah Wicklund. They’ve certainly influenced the writing behind a lot of our songs. 

What’s the song you’re most excited to play at Newbury Sounds?  

We’re most excited to play The Hex, one of our favourites out of our originals that we’re very excited to debut. 

Do you have any memories connected to the Corn Exchange? 

Seen plenty of musicals and showcases, one of the best being the Young Performers Showcase - that was really fun to not only take part in but watch as well. Can’t forget the pantomime too of course!
