We're inviting you to step into a world of glamour, movement, music and emotion with an exciting programme of dance and variety shows coming up.

Rendez-Vous Dance present The Monocle (Tuesday 10 February), a visually stunning contemporary dance and music production created by award-winning choreographer Mathieu Geffré. Inspired by the legendary 1930s Paris nightclub Le Monocle, the show uncovers a powerful and often forgotten chapter of history. Within the club’s secret walls, glamorous lesbians gathered to dine, dance, sing, and socialise freely at a time when such spaces were rare and precious.

Through expressive choreography, atmospheric staging, and a rich musical score performed live, The Monocle celebrates resilience, identity, and self-expression. The production features a versatile cast of seven, including acclaimed early jazz singer and band leader Imogen Banks, bringing warmth, soul, and authenticity to this moving tribute.

Adding sparkle and spectacle to the season is the return of An Evening of Burlesque (Thursday 5 March), the UK’s longest-running burlesque show. This much-loved variety extravaganza blends cabaret, comedy, music and burlesque into a dazzling night of entertainment.

Audiences can expect feathered costumes, champagne glamour, and show-stopping performances from some of the finest speciality artistes and cabaret stars. With its mix of sophistication, humour, and playful seduction, An Evening of Burlesque delivers a uniquely seductive experience that redefines variety for the modern age.

Completing the line-up is Collaborator (Wednesday 11 March), an intimate and deeply human contemporary circus duet from Ockham’s Razor and produced by Turtle Key Arts. Created and performed by Artistic Directors Alex Harvey and Charlotte Mooney, the piece draws on their 20-year creative partnership.

Using a suspended frame and minimalist staging, the two performers lift, catch, balance, and support one another in a powerful exploration of trust, compromise, and connection. By turns humorous, tender, and breathtaking, Collaborator speaks to anyone who has ever tried to build something with another person. With a four-star review from the Guardian, this piece is an unmissable ode to their partnership.

Together, these three productions form a vibrant and compelling season of dance and variety that reflects the Corn Exchange’s commitment to bold, innovative, and high-quality live performance.
