VOTING IS CLOSED: 'My Wild Life' Competition 2026

Back in November, The Base launched the ‘My Wild Life’ photography competition which was inspired by the return of the Natural History Museum’s prestigious exhibition, Wildlife Photographer of the Year returning to The Base on Fri 27 Feb - Sun 26 Apr.

Vote on the forms below or on The Base Facebook albums to select your favourite images from the Under-18s and Over-18s catergories. These votes will be collected together and the image with the most votes/likes will win it's age category!

The Base's panel of judges, including Newbury Weekly News’ photographer Phil Cannings, local professional photographer Simon Booker and Arts Editor of the Newbury Weekly News, Trish Lee, have whittled the entries down to the final 20 in each age group.

OVER-18s 1st prize wins...

- A Family Day Pass to Marwell Zoo (2 adults, 3 children)

- Get up close with an 'Animal Experience' for 2 people at Marwell Zoo.

- A Kingfisher Hide Experience for two at Berkshire Wildlife Hides

BOTH WINNERS WILL GET...

- An annual Base Pass Plus card for over-18s and a Family Base Pass card for under-18s winners

- Photo exhibited in The Base’s Runway Gallery and at Honesty Café Parkway- Photo printed in the Newbury Weekly News

The Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year 61 exhibition opens at The Base on Friday 27 February and runs until Sunday 26 April, (open Tues – Sun, 10am – 5pm). The My Wild Life finalists’ entries will be displayed in the Runway Galley at The Base and at Honesty Parkway throughout the exhibition run.
