A man staring into the distance, with light coming through a window behind him

Two young music students, Lionel and David, attending the Boston Conservatory in 1917, bond over their shared love of folk music.

They reconnect a few years later, embarking on a song collecting trip in the backwaters of Maine. During World War I they set out to record the lives, voices and music of their American countrymen.

Starring Josh O'Connor (The Durrells, Wake Up Dead Man, Challengers) and Paul Mescal (Normal People, Hamnet).
