The Corn Exchange Trust manages five key spaces; the Corn Exchange which includes a 400 seat auditorium, a 40 seat independent cinema and a Cafe and Bar; The Old Library, which houses all of the organisation’s learning and participation activity and a 94 seat theatre; 101 Outdoor Arts: National Centre for Arts in Public Spaces – a unique outdoor arts creation centre for the development of large-scale outdoor performances, making and rehearsal space and on-site accommodation; and The Base, a visual arts gallery and workshop space on Greenham Business Park which is also home to 8 resident artists. Careers Through the Arts - Visitor Experience Traineeship

This traineeship is part of our Careers through the Arts Programme in collaboration with The Watermill Theatre. Careers through the Arts offers a range of opportunities and events to inspire young people in West Berkshire to discover the many transferable skills relating to creative activity, and to explore a variety of creative career paths.  

Careers Through the Arts - Technical Traineeship

This traineeship is part of our Careers through the Arts Programme in collaboration with The Watermill Theatre. Careers through the Arts offers a range of opportunities and events to inspire young people in West Berkshire to discover the many transferable skills relating to creative activity, and to explore a variety of creative career paths.  

Maintenance Steward Volunteers

The Maintenance Steward Volunteer role supports the smooth day-to-day operation of the Corn Exchange and the Old Library by assisting with basic maintenance, safety checks, and general upkeep of the building. This role helps ensure the venue remains safe, clean, and welcoming for visitors, staff, and performers.           

Customer Service Volunteer at the Old Library

The Old Library is due to open in spring 2026 as an arts, culture and wellbeing space; a space for all the community to enjoy. There will be a programme of courses, workshops, events and professional performances. The venue will be relaxed, informal and welcoming; serving its visitors and the needs of local people. 

We are looking for people who are seeking a meaningful opportunity, joining a small volunteer team, and can commit to being part of the fabric of this exciting new venue and support the running of the building.Â
