An Introduction to Glass Fusing

  • The Base

  • Full Price £120 per person (£10 discount when booked with Glass Fusing: Mosaic Fusing and Op-Art Designs)
Two glass bowls side by side, one with a textured blue sky print and the other a beige bowl with a green and grey strip across the centre

Join Shirley Eccles for an introduction to the techniques involved in glass fusing and slumping.

You will have the opportunity to make two kiln-fired pieces and to experiment with a variety of ideas and glass materials.

In project 1 you can create either a small wall hanging, coasters, sun catcher or a wind chime.

In project 2 you will learn techniques to design your own sheet of art glass. This will then be used to form a slumped bowl or platter.

Suitable moulds will be discussed and prepared for this process as the technique will include two firings. These will be taken away for firing in a kiln and will be returned to The Base for you to collect after the course.
