This beginner-friendly course is perfect for absolute novices, providing everything you need to get started.
Over the course of 5 weeks, you’ll learn the basics of crochet, choosing from one of four fun patterns: a hat, snood, fingerless gloves, or a headband. By the end of the course, you’ll walk away with your very own crocheted accessory and the skills to take on future projects!
By the end of the course, you will:
- Understand the materials needed to complete a crochet project.
- Become familiar with crochet terminology and commonly used foundation stitches.
- Complete your own handmade accessory, ready to wear or gift!
Your instructor, Naomi Ticehurst, is the owner of independent craft business Never Without Wool. Naomi has been crocheting and knitting since childhood, learning from her Mum and Grandma. What started as a relaxing hobby has blossomed into a business, where she creates handmade accessories, which she sells at local craft events in West Berkshire, including The Base's Winter Craft Fair.

Guide to essential items to bring:
- Crochet hook size 5
- 100g of wool suitable for crochet on a size 5 hook
- Wool/tapestry needle
Materials can be provided at an additional cost
All tickets must be booked in advance.
There is no need to print or collect a ticket as the team will have a record of those who have booked. Booking for workshops and courses close 24 hours before the start time. Please note we reserve the right to cancel any course or workshop if the minimum numbers are not met. If we are not able to run a workshop you will be informed three working days ahead of the course or workshop start date.
