A light green glass bowl with a crackle pattern

Extend your knowledge of glass fusing and slumping techniques with Shirley Eccles and experiment with glass powders to create unusual and interesting crackle patterns in the glass.

We will start this project by experimenting with small coasters to learn the powder and crackle technique and experiment with colour combinations. Once familiar with the techniques involved, we will create a larger piece which will go through two firing processes in a kiln to create a platter.

If you wish, you can experiment further by using stencils and powder printing on your crackled effect.

During the class, you will make two coasters and a lovely bowl or platter with a very unique and unusual quality.

4 glass tiles, light green, light green and light blue, red and dark green
