A woman in a red flowing outfits sits on the floor, leaning back. A red blur, almost like fire sits above her chair.

Witness a bold celebration of movement and music with Richard Chappell Dance’s acclaimed work Hot House.

Protest becomes a party in this exhilarating performance, which channels the challenges of today into a powerful celebration of resilience and connection. At its heart is an irresistible fusion of highly physical contemporary dance, striking lighting and a bold soundtrack with live performances by violinist Enyuan Khong. Blending Chinese, Indian and European classical traditions with the pulse of House and Garage music, Hot House is a love letter to the power of music to move us – body and spirit.

Born in Devon, Richard Chappell is one of the South West’s most distinctive choreographers, known for creating memorable, interdisciplinary dance experiences across the UK and beyond. With his outstanding ensemble, Hot House ignites the stage with courage, compassion and collective joy – a fire that burns bright, fades to embers and sparks again.
