Learn the art of modern calligraphy in this relaxed workshop with Francesca Mclean, a professional illustrator and calligrapher based in Wiltshire.
You will start by understanding the basics of how to use the nib with simple exercises learning to create thick and thin strokes, then applying these techniques to working your way through the alphabet creating letterforms in calligraphy. By the end of the session, you will be joining letters and writing words in a modern calligraphy style with guidance and demonstrations from Francesca.
Location: The Lookout Studio, The Base
Duration: 10am - 12pm
Age Guide: 18+
This workshop is designed for complete beginners, so no experience is necessary.
All materials are provided including a starter kit which you will take home with you to continue your calligraphy practice.
All tickets must be booked in advance.
There is no need to print or collect a ticket as the team will have a record of those who have booked. Booking for workshops and courses close 24 hours before the start time. Please note we reserve the right to cancel any course or workshop if the minimum numbers are not met. If we are not able to run a workshop you will be informed three working days ahead of the course or workshop start date.
