Join the Berkshire Printmakers for this fun, creative hands on Silkscreen Printing on Paper course suitable for absolute beginners or as a refresher course for those with some screen printing experience.

Berkshire Printmakers bring their huge library of plain, patterned screens, squeegees, water-based inks and stencils to their workshops and all materials and equipment are included in the cost.

This 6 week course will take you through how to use a squeegee and get good printing results, how to create and print with paper stencils and how to create optical colours by printing with translucent colours. It will also cover experimental printmaking using dry techniques, printing with charcoal and pastels and working directly on the screen with inks. Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to develop your own artwork under the guidance of the two expert printmakers.  No experience necessary as you will be taken step by step through the process.

Materials to bring:

  • An art apron
  • An A3 portfolio for your artwork.

Berkshire Printmakers have been taking their popular printing workshops into art centres, schools, colleges and museums for the last two years. As well as The Base, they work regularly with the Ashmolean Museum Oxford, The Arc Winchester, Southampton Art Gallery, Farnham Maltings and the Children's Festival in Hungerford, to name a few. Berkshire Printmakers are members of the Heritage Craft Association.
