Catch all things Theatre, Music and more this May at the Corn Exchange

As we are already halfway through April, it’s time to look ahead to what’s coming up in May. At the Corn Exchange Newbury there is something for everyone with theatre, family shows, comedy, music and magic too for audiences to enjoy.

First sees Six Chick Flicks (Wednesday 1 May) arrive in Newbury fresh from their sold out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In this smash hit comedy, New York City comedians Kerry Ipema and KK Apple parody everyone's favourite chick flicks in one fast-paced show. It’s the perfect night out for a group of besties to enjoy together.

On Friday 3 May, the production company that brought Queenz! The Show with Balls to the Corn Exchange, return with Frankie’s Guys. Featuring stars from the global hit musical Jersey Boys, hear all the iconic Four Seasons songs like Big Girls Don’t Cry, Oh What a Night and many more.

The dance offering for May at the Corn Exchange is Magical Honey (Sunday 5 May). Presented by South Asian dance company, Sanskruti Dance, join this magical storytelling journey that follows young Maya who loves to draw and read and harnesses her own magic with the help of the celestial being Saraswati.

There is Comedy aplenty with two returning favourites to the Corn Exchange. The first being Griff Rhys Jones: The Cat’s Pyjamas (Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 May). Due to popular demand, an extra date has been added on Wed 8 May and there are still some tickets available. Secondly the Corn Exchange welcomes back Rich Hall: Shot From Cannons (Friday 10 May) to its stage for an evening of new rants, knife-edge observations, thrilling musical interludes and an ever-formidable knack for laughs on the fly. Tickets are limited so be quick!

Towards the end of May we hit another half term, and with it some fantastic family shows, the first being Pop Divas Live! (Tuesday 28 May). With family friendly choreography and lyrics, all little divas and their friends will have the time of their lives at this show. The show includes tributes to the most current artists in the world; Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish, as well as established favourites including Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus and many more.

The last show to round off this fantastic month is London's longest-running theatre magic show, coming to the Corn Exchange Newbury direct from the Leicester Square Theatre, West End Magic (Thursday 30 May). This exciting, family-friendly show offers an amazing mixture of magic, comedy and variety acts for all to enjoy.
