Explore our February half term activities, shows and exhibitions!

Kick off February half term with a trip to the Corn Exchange, Learning Centre or The Base, where there is something on offer for everyone including some fantastic shows, perfect for the whole family.

In the lead up to half term, parents and their little ones can have an oinktastic time with Peppa Pig and everyone’s favourite characters in Peppa Pig’s Fun Day Out (Wednesday 7 & Thursday 8 February, 10am, 1pm & 4pm). This colourful show is packed full of songs, dances and muddy puddles, guaranteed to leave little ones in giggles and snorts. Puppets of Peppa and her friends tell the story along with a friendly narrator to help along the way. With a running time of approximately one hour, it’s the perfect first introduction to theatre.

For children 3 plus, The Bubble Show (Sunday 11 February, 2pm) is the perfect way to start the half term fun. This show offers a unique blend of magic, storytelling, science and most of all fun to wow audiences in this internationally award-winning bubble extravaganza! Giant bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, smoke bubbles, square bubbles, and even fire bubbles are used in this captivating display, presented by The Highland Joker.

Over at the Learning Centre, young people aged 5 to 11 can take part in the popular Create and Make (Monday 12 – Friday 16 February, 10am – 4pm) sessions. Activities during these sessions include arts and crafts, drama and more! The children will get to work with professional practitioners to explore the creative arts, develop new skills and make new friends.

Up at The Base, Greenham, Half Term Art Club (Monday 11 – Thursday 15, 10am to 12pm) will be taking place for children aged 6 – 11. These sessions allow young people to experiment with new media and techniques and put together new creative projects using their imagination during the school holidays. There is also Drawing Portraits (Friday 16 February, 1pm to 3pm) for ages 7 to 13 to work alongside Base resident artist Ellie Kerr-Smiley and look at how to draw and create realistic portraits while developing their technique.
