Festive Workshops
It’s is never too early to start planning for the Christmas season!
We are especially excited this year to launch an extra special programme of festive workshops in collaboration with the Honesty Group – providing the perfect opportunity for you to catch up with friends over the festive period!
So, for our Autumn/Winter programme of classes and course we have joined forces to create a selection of workshop experiences where you can enjoy making craft whilst also getting into the spirit of Christmas with festive treats. Those who have already visited The Base will know about the delicious fresh, seasonal treats on offer at the wonderful Honesty Café on site – and if you’re new to us, well, you’re in for a treat!
We have a fabulous array of festive craft workshops from making Willow Stars, Angels and Table Top Reindeers with a firm favourite basket weaver Judith Needham. You can enjoy tucking into a mince pie and drink whilst weaving your star, or enjoy a delicious lunch, that includes a sandwich, cake and drink, in the Honesty Café as part of our Table-top Reindeer workshop.
Often, it’s the Christmas wreaths adorning front doors that signals the Christmas season is upon us. Our Floral Christmas Wreath workshops are the perfect pre-Christmas get-together with friends or family, as there is nothing better than having a unique handmade wreath to decorate your front door. A professional florist will guide you through the steps to create your own floral wreath, while you can enjoy a festive drink and a mince pie - crafting and mince pies, what’s not to love!
Robins are also symbolic of the festive period and you can make your own Wire Robin Sculpture with Flora Gare to adorn your mantlepiece or even decorate your Christmas table. During the day workshop you’ll enjoy a delicious hot seasonal lunch and a drink, followed by a slice of cake.
And lets not forget how enjoyable Christmas crafts are for families during the festive season. Join our resident artist Cáit Gould for a family fun session to make Festive Clay Decorations. Perfect for unique gifts, or Christmas tree decorations and the workshop includes a festive biscuit and drink. What a treat!
There is so much choice for our winter workshop programme, but for those who enjoy simple Christmas crafting fun, we also have workshops without the tasty bells and whistles; from Festive Decoupage, to eco-friendly Chunky Knit Wreath Making or Wire Garlands, we truly have something for everyone to enjoy this Christmas time.
