Both here at the Corn Exchange and up at The Base have an array of fantastic activities and events for all the family to enjoy this summer holidays.

From Tuesday 6 to Friday 9 August, The BRICK People will be taking over our Balcony Bar to offer a wide range of LEGO® based activities for all ages to dive into. From activity tables to monitored challenges where participants’ names are added to a leaderboard throughout the day, model displays and a young builders DUPLO® area; there is something for all LEGO® lovers during these one-hour session. A selection of these activities will be themed around the 2024 Olympic games to celebrate a summer of sport.

Later in the month, we'll be hosting a 3-day Tabletop Gaming Event from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 August. Visitors can browse exhibitors demonstrating and selling tabletop games of all types including board games, roleplaying games, card games, miniatures, family games and party games. We will also be launching our brand-new Pokémon Club at this event where you will be able to grab a table with your friends to trade and play. This Pokémon Club will thereafter take place on the third Saturday of the month in their Café Bar.

For those wanting to soak up the evening sun, Music on the Terrace (Saturdays, starting 27 July) offers the perfect opportunity. Kick-start the weekend with a drink from our Café Bar and take a seat in the outdoor space directly outside the theatre to enjoy live music from local performers showcasing their talents.

On Wednesday 21 August, we will be combining two of our popular groups to create an intergenerational collaboration of fun and relaxation. Memory Café Meets My First Notes will bring together people living with dementia and their carers with pre-schoolers and their adults, to enjoy tea, coffee and cake in our Balcony Bar, followed by an exciting, interactive music session for all to enjoy. This session will allow people of different generations and backgrounds to interact and relax and enjoy each other’s company.

The school summer holidays see the return of the popular Create and Make holiday sessions at the Learning Centre from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 August. These sessions allow primary school aged children (4 – 11 years) to fill their holiday with arts, crafts, drama and more! They will work with professional practitioners to develop new skills, get creative and make new friends in these fun-filled sessions.
