Meet the cast of Cinderella: Billy Roberts

Next up we have Billy Roberts who plays our Prince Charming's trusty servant, Deldini. Billy tells us all about his wholesome Christmas tradition and memories of watching pantomimes as a kid!

Have you ever been in a pantomime before? What is your favourite thing about performing in one?

I have been in pantomimes before; my first was as a dancer at the Ipswich Regent Theatre doing Jack and the Beanstalk. The last one I did was playing Aladdin back in 2013 in Wimborne. My favourite thing about panto is the family feel you have within the company. It's normally a very busy schedule so all spend a lot of time together at the theatre and I always enjoy the fun and laughter between cast members. It's also great to see families out enjoying a good old panto.


Do you have any memories of being taken to see pantomime as a child?

I do have memories of going to panto as a kid, mostly we used to visit the Queens Theatre in Hornchurch as it's a very local panto to me and my family.


If you were planning a royal ball who would be on your dream guest list?

If I was planning a royal ball I would have the biggest guest list. But if I had to choose 5 dream guests they would be: Ricky Gervais, Graham Norton, Robin Williams, Vicky McClure and Miriam Margoyles. (I think it would be a night of laughter for sure!)


Do you have any Christmas traditions?

The only tradition I have for Christmas is on Christmas Eve, me and my school friends who have all been mates since the age of 3, we always meet up for a pint in our local.


What is your favourite Christmas song?

My favourite Christmas song is either I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day or Last Christmas (George Michael is one of my idols and the reason I wanted to sing).
