Meet the cast of Cinderella: William Beckerleg
Rehearsals are in full swing for our panto cast and over the next few weeks we will be getting to know them a little bit better. First up we have William Beckerleg, who will be our Prince Charming. Audiences may recognise William from last year's panto, Aladdin, where he entertained us with his Joe Wicks impression. He tells us his favourite Christmas traditions and who his dream guest would be for his royal ball.
Have you been in a pantomime before? What is your favourite thing about performing in one?
Yes I have been in a pantomime before. My favourite thing I think is the unpredictability. There's always cheekiness in the air, so you can never be sure what's going to happen.
Do you have any memories of being taken to see pantomimes as a child?
I didn't watch many pantos as a kid I'm afraid.
If you were planning a royal ball, who would be on your dream guest list?
Freddie Mercury (I think if you sort that, the rest of the guest list will work itself out).
Do you have any Christmas traditions?
Eating too much chocolate and losing all the board games.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
In Dulce Jubilo. That song can make me feel Christmassy in March.
