Your May Half Term Sorted!

Family fun this May Half Term at the Corn Exchange and The Base!

We've got plenty of fun-filled events for families and little ones to enjoy this May half term from Sunday 28 May until Sunday 4 June.

First up on our stage is Roald Dahl and the Imagination Seekers on Sunday 28 May, a mischievous and inventive theatrical family show perfect for ages 5 and up. Presented by Get Lost & Found and The Roald Dahl Story Company, this show develops both creative and literacy skills through performance, games and creative play, while exploring Roald Dahl’s extraordinary stories, including The BFG and The Twits. The performances are at 11am and 2pm but come down early to enjoy an exciting Roald Dahl themed activity in our Café Bar! Find out more and book tickets here.

For young people interested in arts and crafts then Create and Make at the Learning Centre from Tuesday 30 May - Friday 2 June will be the perfect activity to fill the week. Young people aged 5 to 11 will get to work with professional practitioners to explore the creative arts, develop new skills and make new friends. The full day workshops take place from 10am to 4pm and all tickets should be booked in advance. Book here.

At The Base, young artists can get their teeth stuck into creative craft projects at Art Club from Tuesday 30 May – Friday 2 June, from 10am to 12pm in the Lookout Studio. Local artist Gemma Kirby will lead these workshops, giving young people aged 6 to 11 the opportunity to experiment with different art techniques and creative projects.

Also coming to our stage this half term, is star of CBeebies’ Popcast, Nick Cope with his popular Family Music show. Catch Nick’s legendary performance on Sunday 4 June at 11am. He has been writing and recording his beautiful and totally unique songs for children and their families for over ten years. This show is suitable for children age 2+, children under 18 months do not require a full ticket but please contact the Box Office for a babe-in-arms ticket which costs a £1 admin fee.

For the film fans, this half term we are showing The Super Mario Bros Movie (PG) and Suzume (PG) in our Cinema. The Family Films are How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (PG) on 26 May and Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists (U) on 3 June. There is the option to add a fun craft and snack bag with the family films which you can enjoy before or after the film and parents you can purchase a tea or coffee from our Café Bar.
