A woman in an orange shirt cooks at a kitchen island
Priority

What would you take if you had to leave home with no hope of returning? This life-affirming play chronicles one woman’s quest to start again.

Remembering the tastes and aromas of her mother’s kitchen with live cooking on stage, she recreates the dishes of her childhood and homeland, building a new life and community around food.

Written by award-winning Hannah Khalil from the story by Atoosa Sepehr, directed by Chris White, and starring Isabella Nefar
(BBC’s The Gold and the National Theatre’s Salome), the hit play returns after sell-out runs at Soho Theatre and Traverse Theatre during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Originally presented by Soho Theatre and Traverse Theatre and produced by Farnham Maltings.
