A Big Thank You to the Miss Lawrence Trust

A stone building with a round window at the top and four pillars in the sunshine with blue sky.

We would like to say a big thank you to the Miss Lawrence Trust for its generous donation of £1,560.

The Corn Exchange Newbury is delighted to announce a generous donation from The Miss Lawrence Trust, to deliver the Corn Exchange's 6-week Roald Dahl literacy and drama project in two local schools this summer.

The Roald Dahl Literacy project introduces and engages KS2 pupils in the experience and practise of the Arts, exploring the language, story structure and characters of a Roald Dahl text, and finishes with a performance on the Corn Exchange main stage. The grant from the Miss Lawrence Trust enables two local schools, Kintbury St Mary's and Brimpton Primary, to take part in the project.

The Roald Dahl Literacy project is led by professional theatre and education practitioners, who have experience working to learning objectives in schools and educational environments, making theatre with young people. The Corn Exchange is passionate about the positive benefits of engaging young people with arts and cultural learning, and the grant from The Miss Lawrence Trust will help more young people have access to our project.
