Booking information: Outdoor workshops for Adults

We're excited to present a range of classes, courses and workshops for adults in Victoria Park this summer, as part of the Out of Doors Festival. You can find some important information below about what to expect from your visit.

Arrival
When you arrive at the park for your class, please look out for the Corn Exchange trike and banner. An area for the class will be designated with bunting.

You do not need to show a physical ticket when you arrive at your class but the practitioner leading the class will be doing a register so you will need to know the surname you booked under.

Please be aware we will also need to gather your contact details for test and trace. If you have a smartphone, please download the NHS COVID-19 app prior to your event. If you do not, you can write down your contact information upon arrival.

Weather

Since these are outdoor classes we ask that you dress for all weathers and provide your own sun-hats, sun cream, coats, jackets, scarves and umbrellas (it is an English summer after all!).

If it is raining heavily on the day of your class, we will cancel your class and will contact you to let you know. Please make sure your contact details are up to date when you book. In the event that we have to cancel your class due to adverse weather, we will offer you a full refund.

Toilets

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide toilets for this event. Please be aware the nearest facilities are public toilets located in Parkway shopping centre.

First Aid

Should you require first aid during your class, please visit the Corn Exchange trike or speak to your practitioner. A Corn Exchange First Aider will be on hand either in the park or on call in the main Corn Exchange building.

Other things to bring:

Please bring a water bottle.

For certain classes we do ask you to bring your own resources (art materials for example). Further information listing requirements for specific classes are detailed below.

Our classes will be taking place on grass so please bring a picnic blanket/something waterproof to sit on if needed.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide chairs. If you or a member of your household attending the class has mobility issues, we suggest you bring your own camping chair to sit on.

Further class information:

Afternoon Art by the Canal:
Please check the booking page for a list of art supplies to bring with you.

Sunshine and Sewing:
Please bring with you a knitting, sewing or crocheting project. This can be something you are half way through or not yet begun.

Yoga, Tai Chi Qigong or Pilates:
Please provide your own yoga mat.

Gong Bath:
Please bring your own yoga mat plus any other comfort items to stay warm and relaxed (lots of layers, pillows, blankets etc).

We hope you enjoy our Out of Doors Festival!
