Colourful celebration of arts and crafts returns to The Base this September

Craft materials explode out of the roof if an illustration of The Base building

From Saturday 7 to Saturday 21 September celebrate all things arts and crafts at The Base Greenham with their Festival of Arts and Crafts

Returning for its third year, this popular celebration highlights creativity through arts, crafts, artisan food and drink from local makers and creators.

This year's festival will feature a number of vibrant events for all ages to enjoy. To kick off the celebrations, The Base Greenham’s building will be surrounded by a captivating Arts & Craft Fair (Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September only) featuring stalls that will create a bustling market of high-quality crafters and artists for visitors to browse. There will also be live music from local performers for visitors to enjoy whilst browsing the stalls, kindly sponsored by Honesty Bakers and Makers.

The Base will also be offering creative Taster Workshops throughout the duration of the festival. These workshops include taster versions of some of The Base’s most popular workshops and courses such as Drawing with Wire, Silkscreen Printing, Urban Sketching, Pottery Throwing and much more. Taster workshops will allow children and adults of all ages to experience a variety of crafts firsthand by capturing their imagination and encouraging their creativity in new ways, some of which they may not have been able to explore before. These workshops will be priced between £7 to £16 and will be available throughout the festival.

There will also be a stunning Festival of Art Exhibition featuring local artists’ work taking place in the venue’s Gallery throughout the Festival (Saturday 7 – Saturday 21 September), offering visitors the chance to purchase a piece of original art. The Base will also be allowing visitors of the festival to showcase their creativity for all to see as their Runway Gallery will become a huge chalkboard doodle wall. Visitors will be able to come together and transform the space into a collective piece of beautiful art that will evolve over the duration of the festival.
