We've announced our spectacular Spring 2025 season to see in the new year!

Newbury is set for another incredible season of shows at the Corn Exchange in spring 2025. 

With a vibrant mix of performances that range from family-friendly theatre and enchanting adaptations of beloved stories to stand-up comedy and live music tributes, audiences can enjoy puppetry, juggling and theatre with powerful narratives exploring contemporary themes. There will be renowned artists and fresh talent, promising unforgettable experiences for all ages this new year.

There will be a fantastic season of music shows on offer with some returning favourites and new offerings including Re-Take That (31 January), a heartfelt tribute featuring stunning musicianship and energetic performances, and the popular Rave On (1 February), a musical adventure celebrating the rise of Rock and Roll. Relive rock nostalgia with the incredible Walk Right Back: The Everly Brothers Story (13 February) and rock on with The Bon Jovi Experience (1 March) that will celebrate 30 years of Bon Jovi classics.

Yllana Theatre & Tötem Company bring their show, TRASH! (5 March) to the Corn Exchange this spring. This show promises a high-energy dumpster dive of sound for audience members of all ages as they use impressive instruments made using recycled materials to create bopping beats. Audiences can groove to George Benson: Give Me the Night (6 March), showcasing timeless soul classics. Newbury Sounds: A Fundraising Concert for the Old Library campaign (14 March) will see local talent come together on the Corn Exchange stage to raise funds for their Old Library campaign, which will transform the historic library building into a new home for their creative participation work. Music lovers will also be able to listen to the exquisite harmonies of The Overtones in Up Close and Personal (20 March), while Queenz: Drag Me to the Disco! (22 March), will present an electrifying live vocal drag extravaganza. Following this The Cavern Beatles (3rd April) will provide a rich, musical history tour through The Beatles' works. Closing this delightful season and celebrating 60 years of classic hits will be Just My Imagination: The Music of The Temptations (25 April), transporting audiences back in time to a world of music, memories and pure soul.

Comedy lovers can catch Carl Hutchinson in Today Years Old (30 January), who will have audiences in stitches with his rich storytelling and Geordie wit. Audiences can also enjoy a returning favourite, The Comedy Network (7 February & 4 April), which will showcase fresh comedic talent, including Huge Davies, Eleanor Tiernan and many more. For more funny business, enjoy a comedic homage to the 90s cult classic TV show in the hilarious Knightmare Live 10th Anniversary Tour (15 February). And there’s more laughs as Shaparak Khorsandi’s Scatterbrain (28 February) offers a candid and hilarious portrayal of life with ADHD. Comedian Miles Jupp’s show, On I Bang (13 March) will return to the Corn Exchange stage to share his extraordinary story of survival and resilience after a brain seizure. Join Daniel O'Reilly in Out of Character (15 March) for laughs and reflections on his tumultuous career, as he looks back on losing it all, battling addiction and becoming a father. Lastly the master of satirical comedy Marcus Brigstocke comes to the Corn Exchange with Vitruvian Mango (8 April) as he tackles modern masculinity.

Kicking off the theatre programme will be Last Rites (4 & 5 February) presented by Ad Infinitum and co-commissioned by the Corn Exchange Newbury, offering a unique non-verbal performance exploring the profound and intimate story of a Deaf man’s journey, bringing to life a rich tapestry of shared memories. In March, Black Eyed Theatre will present Dracula (11 & 12 March), offering a thrilling theatrical interpretation of Bram Stoker's classic, blending Victorian Gothic with contemporary technology. Unleash your inner detective and get your magnifying glasses at the ready for Degrees of Error’s Murder She Didn't Write: Improvised Murder Mystery (27 March). Experience TBC Productions’ In Other Words (28 March), telling a touching love story intertwined with Frank Sinatra's music, followed by Duck (30 April) that will showcase a poignant exploration of adolescence and identity in the competitive world of cricket.

Continuing the excitement, families will be able to enjoy LASTheatre’s charming children’s tale The Littlest Yak (2 February), followed by Four Seasons (21 - 23 February), a theatrical love letter to nature for families, featuring magical gardeners tending flora and fauna, that will be accompanied by an exciting score that features Vivaldi’s work. Family favourite Nick Cope returns to the Corn Exchange with his brand-new show I’ve Lost My Bobble Hat! (2 March), as well as Tall Stories’ The Gruffalo (7 - 9 March), bringing to life the beloved children's tale from Julia Donaldson in a magical adaptation. There will be two relaxed performances of The Gruffalo (1.30pm 7 March & 11am 8 March), one will also have a British Sign Language interpreter on stage (1.30pm 7 March). These performances will have adjusted sound and lighting, and the freedom to move, make noise, or come and go as needed. There is also the chance to enjoy the return of Sweeney Entertainment’s Pop Princesses (19 April), a magical pop concert for children, featuring tracks from artists like Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor and Miley Cyrus.

Children aged two months to two years can experience Whipped Up! (6 April), a comedy show incorporating sensory play throughout and Tall Stories bring another of Julia Donaldson’s tales to the stage with Room on the Broom (10 – 13 April), which will enchant audiences through the magic of storytelling. For a creative family experience, join the illustrator of the much-loved Jacqueline Wilson books in Nick Sharratt’s Picture Book Drawalong (15 April) and Science Museum The Live Stage Show (16 April) will also curate a captivating educational experience for all. Completing the Easter holiday offering is Michael Morpurgo’s Farm Boy (22 April), a heartwarming family-friendly show with beautiful original music.

Audiences will be able to immerse themselves in the world of Indian dance with Sevens (10 February), presented by Srishti Nina Rajarani Dance Creations, showcasing a timeless and remarkable triple bill of Indian Dance. Gandini Juggling will present Heka (25 February), inviting audiences into a mesmerising realm where reality is blurred with illusion, celebrating the absurdity of entertainment through juggling. Ockham’s Razor will showcase a groundbreaking adaptation of Tess of the D’Urbervilles with Tess (18 & 19 March), weaving together circus and drama in an extraordinary production. 

Audiences will also be able to join former detective Colin Sutton in Makings of a Murderer 2: The Real Manhunter (6 February) as he recounts chilling tales from his career. In April, Billy Billingham’s Always a Little Further (1 April) will also present an extraordinary evening as the former SAS leader shares his inspirational story.

We’re really excited to be offering another excellent and varied season of performances. We’ve got circus shows, South Asian dance along with plenty of performances for the family as well as music, comedy and a fantastic fundraising concert for our redevelopment of Newbury’s Old Library into a new arts participation hub. We hope that there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
