Amazing August: Summer Holiday Fun!

Our Amazing August programme is here and ready to fill your family’s summer holidays with fun! Taking place from Monday 1 to Saturday 27 August, this exciting new offering is packed with activities and events perfect for little ones, families and adults alike.

For people with young children, our Superhero Adventure Trail is a great way to explore the town throughout the month as families set off on a nature themed treasure hunt around Newbury town centre. Children aged 12 and under can get their dancing skates on as the Family Roller Disco zooms into town on selected Thursdays and Fridays throughout August, with skates and safety gear provided; and for those who prefer flippers, kids and their raver parents can get their fins flapping to the beat at the underwater themed party, Deep Sea Ravers on Saturday 13 August.

For adults looking for a party of their own, our adult only Silent Disco on Saturday 13 is the place to be – bring your friends, don the headphones and boogie on down to music from different genres across three different headphone channels. If something a little more zen takes your fancy, start your day on Sunday 14 with Uplift Dance – an early morning, free form, headphone dance session surrounded by nature in Goldwell Park.

On Friday 19 August, music fans can discover the very best local talent at the DJ Xchange, where DJs from Berkshire and beyond will hit the decks to showcase sets from House, Techno, Drum & Bass and more.

And for vintage themed fun, the Tea Dance on Sunday 21 will have you waltzing and cha-cha-ing through the afternoon with lashings of tea and cake; and the Vintage Dance Party on Saturday 27 will start with a themed cocktail hour and an optional dance class before revelers dance the night away to live music from the Ding Dong Daddios and DJ Holly France.

This August, we are also excited to be welcoming one of France's most inventive performance companies Le G. Bistaki back to Newbury for their latest performance, Bel Horizon, on Greenham Common. Taking place on Saturday 6 August, Bel Horizon is presented as part of our free outdoor arts programme and will see circus, dance and physical performance open audiences up to emotions, senses and whole other world.
