An end of year update on the Old Library

Main construction work started in the Old Library over the summer, with much progress made already including structural work.

This work included installing beams, new doorways and floor levels, first fix electrics, insulation, plaster boarding, painting of ceilings and installation of doors. Work is continuing with electrical second fix, plumbing, commissioning of air handling, completion of decorating, fire and security alarms and the construction of the access ramp.

We are beginning to programme the work that will take place once the building opens to the public next Spring. We will be able to programme many sessions in the larger space – increasing capacity for some of our existing workshops and introducing new sessions, including new dance offerings.

This new space will make a real difference, helping us to expand the creative health and wellbeing work we can do with our community. Thank you to all our donors for your support - we look forward to welcoming you into the building next Spring.
