Whether you want to try something new or develop your skills, there is plenty to choose from with a variety of workshops and classes at The Base.

Workshops for adults

Abstract Street Art

Explore abstract painting and graffiti art techniques with street artist Kevin Waite. Learn how to channel your own creative expression to create your own vibrant and dynamic artwork. All materials for the session are provided.

Macramé Hearts

Discover the art of macramé in this hands-on workshop. With support from practitioner Char, participants will create their own beautiful 20cm macramé heart. Perfect as a decorative piece for the home, a thoughtful handmade gift, or a unique keepsake, this workshop is designed for beginners and craft enthusiasts alike. All materials for this session are included.

Glass Fusing: Mosaic and Op-Art Designs

A project based workshop where participants can extend their skills and techniques involved in glass fusing and slumping. Participants will make two items during the day, with the opportunity to experiment with a variety of fusing ideas and glass materials.

Wood Engraving: An Introduction

Discover the rich history of wood engraving, and learn the creative art through tools, applications, and the relief printing press to create your own detailed prints on handmade papers, with printmaker Hannah Cantellow.

Stencils for Rebels

This workshop is more than just learning stencilling - this is connection, expression and feeling good in your body and mind.  Make a pledge to yourself, play with paint and express your energy, with Libby from Magpie and the Mob.

Bring Your Baby Art Class

Develop your artistic skills in a relaxed session for parents or carers with babies under 12 months, guided by resident artist Ellie Kerr-Smiley.

Street Art Workshop

Create your own street art and unleash your inner artist. Learn how to spray paint while creating a vibrant artwork that you can take home! Guided by street artist Kevin Waite, learn how to create street art with style.

Yarn Winding and Collage

Create your own miniature textile artwork in this playful workshop! Learn the art of yarn winding using coloured yarns, explore colour theory, pattern and design.

Sun 22 Feb, 3pm - 4.30pm

Hop & Knot: Macramé Easter Bunny Ears

A fun and creative workshop to celebrate Easter. Young artists will get an introduction to the art of macramé, while making their own set of bunny ears, perfect for the season.
