Our staff are competing in Newbury BID's Krazy Races to support the Old Library Campaign!

We are excited to announce that we have a team of staff taking part in the Newbury Krazy Races, hosted by Visit Newbury (BID).
The team have to build a soapbox style vehicle to race through Newbury on Sunday 24 August, navigating exciting obstacles in front of thousands of spectators, all to raise essential funds for our Old Library Campaign.
The team consists of Eden Harrhy, Claire Currie, Sarah Franks, Katie Breckenridge, Georgina Nicholls, Martin West, Katherine Lewis, and Chris Moore. They will be rolling up their sleeves to design and build a wacky and wonderful soapbox cart to take on the twists, turns and jumps of the Krazy Races course. Hopefully they will be able to not only entertain the crowd with their driving and funky design work, but also to push the campaign closer to its goal.
So far, with your support, we have raised an impressive £793,000 towards transforming the Old Library into a new arts and wellbeing hub for our community. This redeveloped space will offer opportunities to connect with others, explore creativity, learn new skill to support mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
The Old Library is set to become a vibrant, accessible place where people of all ages can take part in projects designed to reduce social isolation, build confidence, and improve mental health — all through the power of the arts.
Our team are taking on this high-energy, fun-filled event not just for the thrill of the race, but to help bring this vital community space to life.
