Your visit this autumn

What to expect from your visit to us this Christmas. Updated 9/12/21

As the country moves into Plan B, the comfort and protection of our visitors, volunteers and staff members remains our priority and we have a number of mitigation measures in place.

Face Coverings

Wearing a face covering helps to protect those around you and reduce the spread of coronavirus.

We understand that not everyone is able to wear a face covering but, if you are, in line with government regulations, a face covering must be worn when you are in our buildings for the protection and comfort of our visitors and also our staff members and volunteers who keep our buildings open and running. This includes when you are watching a show or film.

Covid passes

Whilst venues of our size are currently exempt from having to ask for visitors to show Covid passes, in an abundance of caution and for the protection of our visitors, staff members and volunteers, we will be asking those aged 18 and over for proof of double vaccination status before entering the building, either via the NHS app or by showing the card you received when you had your vaccinations. Alternatively you may show proof of a negative lateral flow test taken in the 24 hours prior to your visit by showing the text or e-mail confirmation you received after logging your lateral flow result.

Book with confidence

It is still very important that you do not attend events if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19. If you have been told to self-isolate or are displaying symptoms of Covid-19, please contact the Box Office and we will arrange a transfer, a credit to your Corn Exchange account or a refund if you are not able to attend as long as you tell us before the event start time.

Seating

Cinderella is on sale in the standard, full capacity configuration but, in order to ensure everyone who wishes to attend feels comfortable to do so, we will be offering at least one fully socially distanced performance each week. For these we will be leaving rows empty and will be leaving spaces either side of each booking.

As a publicly funded organisation, we need to ensure everyone, including those who are disabled or clinically extremely vulnerable, can attend if they wish. If you would like to come to a performance but would not be able to attend unless a space was left either side, please contact our Box Office team to discuss your booking.

Our cinema

Films in our cinema will be sold at reduced capacity, with a seat left either side of each booking.

Festival of Light

For our Festival of Light procession on Sunday 12 December, this year we have moved the event slightly later and asked those attending to book tickets so that we can control attendance better. Although this event takes place outdoors, we are recommending that face coverings are worn (unless exempt) and we would also advise taking a lateral flow test before attending. It is very important that only those with pre-booked tickets attend.

How to book for films

For films where a space has been left between bookings, we will be using a bubble booking method. Seats will be available in bubbles of different group sizes and you will need to select the one that is appropriate for your booking. Seats that are available are shown in red and those that have already been booked, or that have been left free for distancing, are shown in grey.

You must select a bubble which fits with your group size otherwise the system will not proceed with the booking. For example, if you try to book two seats in a bubble which is designed for four, the booking will not go through and you will need to select a bubble of two seats. If you require a bubble size which is not available please contact the Box Office and they will assist with your booking.

Test and Trace

If you would like to check in using the NHS Covid-19 app, we display the Test and Trace QR code. Alternatively you can leave contact details with us which we be stored securely and destroyed after 21 days.
