Don't miss out on The Comedy Network on our stage this week!

Get ready to laugh out loud this Friday 5 September as The Comedy Network returns to Newbury!
A launchpad for some of the biggest names in British comedy, including Lee Mack, Russell Howard, and Jenny Eclair, Avalon's The Comedy Network is known for delivering top-tier stand-up talent across the UK. This week, we welcome September’s hilarious new line-up to our stage, and they’re bringing the laughs with them. Don’t miss your chance to see the next big stars of comedy before they hit the big time!
Kicking off the show is the brilliant Javier Jarquin! A seasoned performer and rising star in the world of comedy, Javier is making waves as both a headliner and content creator. With his sharp insights on life as an immigrant and a fresh, unique perspective woven into every set, he delivers a powerful mix of jaw-dropping skills, pinpoint precision, and theatrical flair, pushing the boundaries of live performance with every act.
Next up is Dom McGovern, a sharp, high-energy comedian known for tackling everything from sexuality and politics to religion and pop culture. He launched his stand-up career in Australia, earning recognition as a finalist in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s prestigious RAW Comedy competition; an honour shared with alumni like Hannah Gadsby, Ronnie Chieng, and Rhys Nicholson. Also, in 2022, he was named runner-up in the OnlyFans Creative Fund Comedy Edition, judged by comedy heavyweights Mae Martin, Jamali Maddix, and London Hughes.
Then we’ve got the brilliant Sooz Kempner! An award-winning comedian, singer, writer, and actor, Sooz has taken nine solo stand-up shows to the Edinburgh Fringe. During lockdown, you might’ve seen her variety of online content, including her creative livestreams on Twitch and viral political videos where Donald Trump’s words are hilariously delivered verbatim in the voice of Liza Minnelli, and sharp parodies of Liz Truss. Her work has been featured in The Guardian, The Independent, The Metro, and even across the pond in the LA Times and Chicago Tribune. She’s also set to star as a guest lead in an upcoming US sitcom for Amazon Prime and CBS.
And finally, as our compere for the evening, we welcome Greg Winfield! Greg brings razor-sharp wit and rapid-fire crowd work that keeps audiences on their toes and in stitches. Unapologetically bold yet effortlessly charming, his style is as original as it is hilarious. He's supported for the likes Russell Howard, Nish Kumar, Jon Richardson, and Fern Brady, and his writing credits include BBC’s Mock the Week and Comedy Central’s Roast Battle. Greg’s also a hit online, with his sketches and crowd work clips racking up over 14 million views on TikTok.
