Newbury Sounds - Meet the Bands: A Dirty Soul

Get to know the bands who will be performing at our next fundraising event, Newbury Sounds!
With our next fundraising event for the Old Library Campaign now just under a month away (Saturday 30 August) we have spoken to each of the bands performing on the night to learn more about them and what to expect from their performance at Newbury Sounds.
First up is Rob, the lead guitarist of the band A Dirty Soul who will be returning to headline the event after their success at our first Newbury Sounds fundraiser earlier this year. Here's what he had to say:
What was your favourite moment from your last Newbury Sounds performance?
Seeing the local music community coming together and nearly selling out the venue. It’s nice to see a normally quiet town share a mutual love of local music. There’s a few riffs in the songs I’ve been sat on for years so it was nice to play them on a stage
Have you added any new songs or surprises to your set this time?
We’ve written a couple more songs we are excited to play on such a great stage. We started work on our new EP just this week, over at Studio 91 in Greenham. The session went so well we think we might get our new song Antidote released before the show!
Is there a lyric or specific song in your set that means a lot to you personally?
We still hold our debut single Bloodline so dearly as it’s the first tune we wrote when we brought the band together - but Rock n Roll is Dead is actually about the music community coming together and enjoying guitar music, so that one will be great on the night too!
For anyone who is new to your band, could you describe the kind of music you play?
Hard rock with a light seasoning of indie and blues. For fans of Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood, Oasis.
